A person was rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at a residential property on Hobart Place in Blackpool.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 3.18pm on Friday 19th December. Six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform with its supporting fire engine, a command unit, and a drone were deployed to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus successfully rescued one person from the ground floor of the two-storey flats.
The fire started in the front porch area, with heat and smoke spreading to the first floor and the roof of the building.
Almost five-hour operation to extinguish fire
Crews worked for 4 hours and 50 minutes to bring the fire under control using six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, three positive pressure ventilation fans, breaking tools, and a thermal imaging camera. A triple extension ladder was also utilised during the operation.
