Person pronounced dead at Leyland railway station

Emergency services responded to reports of a casualty on the tracks

A person has been pronounced dead at Leyland railway station after emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at 7.20am today.

Paramedics attended the scene alongside officers from British Transport Police, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The situation is not being treated as suspicious, and authorities will prepare a file for the coroner concerning the incident.
