Pensioner suffers serious injuries in Burnley collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and footage, after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Burnley.
Officers were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 8.40pm yesterday (Sunday 1 February), to the junction of Manchester Road and St Matthew Street, to a report of a road traffic collision.
An Audi A3 car had been in collision with a pedestrian in the carriageway.
The pedestrian, a man in his 90s, suffered serious head and leg injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.
Sgt Tony Beckett of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts first and foremost are with the injured man as he undergoes treatment in hospital for serious injuries.
“As we investigate the collision, we are appealing for witnesses and for anyone who was driving in the area around the time it happened and has dashcam footage, to contact us.
“If people have CCTV in the area, again we want you to come forward.
“There were a lot of people at the scene and if they left before speaking to our officers, we would like to hear from them.”
