80-year-old seriously injured in collision in Blackpool
Lancashire police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was seriously injured in a collision in Blackpool yesterday (13th January).
The 80-year-old was riding a mobility scooter across the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Dickson Road and Banks Street just before 9am when a Mazda CX-5 car collided with her.
The woman, who is from the resort, suffered serious injuries to her lower back and legs and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Mazda, a woman in her 20s from Blackpool, was not injured.
gt Peter Snook, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “We are appealing for information after a woman was left with serious injuries following a collision in Blackpool.
“Given the time of day I believe many people will have seen what happened. If you can help our investigation please come forward.”
