Lancaster pensioner left unconscious after group of youths beat him

A pensioner has been seriously injured after being assaulted by a group of youths who beat him with sticks and pieces of wood.
Officers say the man in his 60s was the victim of an unprovoked attack, and was left unconscious suffering a broken nose, broken hand, a missing tooth and numerous cuts.
It's reported that the victim heard banging at his door on Shakespeare Road at around 6pm on Sunday (11th January).
He saw a group of youths laughing at him and went outside to follow them.
He was then assaulted by a group of around eight on Barley Copp Lane.
Officers are searching for those involved and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them by calling 101, quoting log 0843 of January 11th.
