A mother, her daughter, and son have been found guilty of murdering a man in Blackburn last June.

44-year-old Joanne Maxwell, 22-year-old Amie Clegg, and 25-year-old Liam Donlin have all been found guilty of murder, despite pleading not guilty.

Preston Crown Court heard how the siblings and their mother planned to attack Paul Scott, a distant relative of Clegg's, after an altercation the previous September.

They arrived at Paul's home at around 3am with knives on 22nd June 2025.

After Clegg lured him to the front door, her brother stabbed him as she filmed the murder with the intention of posting it on Snapchat.

She called emergency services but lied about her and her brother's names, the address and the circumstances.

Paul was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three were arrested and later charged with his murder.

Maxwell and Clegg were also found guilty of possession of a bladed article.

They're due to be sentenced on 20th March at Preston Crown Court.

Paul Scott

"A trio of evil"

In a statement, Paul's family said, "The past seven months has been the most challenging time our family has ever had to endure. A family’s worst nightmare.

"Our beloved Paul Scott was taken from us in an unimaginable act of cruelty. Set upon by a mother, her daughter and her son. A trio of evil attacked, killed and filmed Paul’s last moments in the dead of night on his own doorstep.

"Over this three-week trial we have been forced to relive this twisted nightmare in horrific detail.

"It’s been a long road towards justice for Pauly.

"We, as a family would like to thank everybody involved in securing today’s convictions."
