A man from Nelson has been jailed for four years and four months after drugs were found at his home during two raids by police.

In August 2024, a significant amount of cannabis was found at an address in Barkerhouse Road, Nelson, which was at the time was the home of 37 year-old Paul Metcalfe.

At Preston Crown Court, Metcalfe, formerly of Pont Street, Nelson, appeared for sentence after pleading guilty to possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply.

Sgt Carl McCoy of the Prosper Partnership Team at Pendle, said: “This is another significant sentence as part of the operation and this demonstrates our strong working relationships with local partners and our combined commitment to tackling this sort of activity in our communities, preventing, and detecting crime.

“The information we receive from the public is invaluable to the police and without it we would be unable to carry out this sort of proactive work.”
