Mountain biker rescued from quarry in Lancashire
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were called to Lee Quarry
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team have confirmed they were called to Lee Quarry at the weekend, to reports of a mountain biker falling and suffering a serious leg injury.
The team were called to the site in Bacup at around 4:45pm on Saturday (31 May), to help the cyclist.
In a statement, the rescue team said: "Team members were mobilised and met with the NWAS crew on scene, where they were treating a casualty who had suffered a potentially serious leg injury whilst riding through the lower wooded area of the bike trials.
The casualties’ leg was splinted, and they were being provided with pain relief by the crew.
"Once the appropriate equipment and personnel arrived at the location, the casualty was placed onto the bell stretcher and then continued down the bike track to the awaiting ambulance."
