Motorcyclist dies in collision with barrier in Rivington

A man in his 30s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Rivington.

Officers were called out to an unnamed road off Rivington Lane on the way to Rivington Hall Barn.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said "Our officers were called to this unnamed road at 9:04pm on Wednesday 8th April following reports a blue Yamaha offroad motorbike collided with a barrier used to close a car park."

The rider died at the scene.

The passenger, a woman in her 30s, was hospitalised with minor injuries.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
