Morecambe FC's Board of Directors say administrators will be called in the morning
The Board of Directors say they have had further discussions with owner Jason Whittingham this evening
Morecambe FC has released a statement this evening saying administrators 'will be called at the earliest opportunity tomorrow morning'.
Talks over the weekend to try and complete the sale of the club from the Bond Group to Panjab Warriors have not reached an agreement.
Earlier today (July 1st) the Board of Directors of the club issued this statement:
"New information has come to light, which is currently being investigated, therefore the deadline that was set for 16:00, has now been extended to 18:00.
"We have been working diligently all day and are in communication with the current owner, Jason Whittingham and Panjab Warriors.
However on the club website this evening a statement says:
"The Board of Directors have, this evening, informed Jason that administrators will be called, at the earliest opportunity, tomorrow morning."
The club says the opportunity for Jason to sell his shares 'will end once and for all' after tomorrow morning.
This year the Shrimps were relegated from League Two to the National League.
