Emergency crews have rescued three people from quicksand at Bolton Le Sands.

The group raised the alarm around 5.15pm on Monday (13th April) when they got into trouble whilst out walking.

HM Coastguard, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and Bay Search & Rescue were all involved in the operation to get them to safety before the tide came in.

BSAR say it was "an outstanding job supported by Morecambe Coastguard Rescue Team and freed the casualties in quick sharp time and got them to safety.

"Superb Responses from all teams asked to assist and a massive response from BSAR team members with a nearly whole team turnout."

They're reminding anyone who gets into trouble at the coast should call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
