A man and a woman have been arrested after police conducted warrants at three addresses related to Martin's funeral directors in Preston.

Officers say concerns were raised earlier this month about the practices at the funeral parlour.

They carried out warrants at three addresses Preston and Longridge with a public health inspector.

They found nothing "untoward in respect of the treatment or storage of peoples’ loved ones", the force said.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, both from Preston, were arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation and are currently in custody.

An investigation is ongoing, but will focus on potential financial irregularities.

The business is running as usual so funeral services won't be impacted.
