Man moves from Chorley area after parents raise concern
A man has been moved on by police from a property close to a primary school in Chorley.
Although police stated no crime had been committed, close to All Saints Primary School in Moor Road, a man had ‘voluntarily agreed to leave the local area’.
Chorley Police have issued a statement over Facebook saying they are aware of “recent incidents” in the Moor Road area of the town, relating to the resident of a property close to All Saints School.
A police spokesperson said:
"While no criminal offences have been committed, these incidents have prompted concern in the community and on social media, including those parents whose children attend the school."
The concerned parents of those who attend the school claimed they were going to keep there children out of school, after the social media outcry.
Police said a man had voluntarily agreed to leave the address and moved out of the area.
Officers have also increased patrols in the area.
A police spokesperson then went onto say:
"We are working with the school and Chorley Borough Council and will continue to be in close contact."
"We recognise the strength of feeling regarding this matter and the safeguarding of those affected, including the school, pupils, families and staff, as well as local residents in the Chorley area, are our priority."
Lindsay Hoyle, Labour MP for Chorley and Speaker of the House of Commons, has said to have raised the issue with the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.
"As you can see from the statement, the individual in question is no longer in the area. I have also have asked for the property to be closed where the individual was residing."
“The police are proactively seeking to reassure the local community that all necessary measures have been taken in the interests of community safety.”
