Man charged with drugs offences after vehicle stop in South Ribble

Police have charged a man with drugs offences, after a proactive vehicle stop in South Ribble.

At around 3pm on Monday (10th August 2026), officers from the Leyland Neighbourhood Policing team stopped a car, which was seen to be acting suspiciously, on Lindle Lane.

After a search, 50 packets of cocaine and around £1300 in cash was discovered inside the car and the driver, a 39-year-old man, was arrested, on suspicion of drugs offences.

During a search of a nearby property, officers also found more than £105,000 in cash.

Sam Haworth, 39, of Martinfield Road, Penwortham, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.
