A man remains in hospital after being seriously injured in an attack at a house in Preston.
The 40-year-old was assaulted by a group of people at his home around midnight on Monday (14 July).
Officers say he suffered deep cuts and is in a stable condition.
Police have since arrested eight people.
Three have now been charged following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
Cristinel Gogalea, 21, of Wilbraham Street, Preston, has been charged with attempted murder.
Rebecca Anitescu, 46, and Marian Anitescu, 52 - both also from Wilbraham Street - have been charged with assisting an offender.
They're due to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Three other men - aged 24, 26 and 45 - have been released under investigation.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man remain in custody, also on suspicion of assisting an offender.
"targeted attack"
Det Insp Steve Monk, of Preston CID, said: “A man has suffered some serious injuries, and we remain in the early stages of an investigation to try and establish the circumstances.
"While we have made a number of arrests, and some people are charged, our enquiries are ongoing.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Tunbridge Street, New Hall Lane and Arnhem Road at around midnight on Monday 14th July.
"Did you see a group of 3 or 4 males in dark clothing, do you have any dash cam footage, or do you live in that area and have CCTV footage and have not yet been spoken to by police? This does appear to be a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the community however you may see an increased police presence in these areas and if you have information or concerns, please do speak to an officer.”
