Man charged after stabbing in Blackpool as police hunt second suspect

A 22-year-old has appeared in court accused of wounding with intent

A man has been charged after another man was stabbed in Blackpool.

Lancashire Police said officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Cocker Street area shortly before 3:15pm on Monday.

It was reported that a man was stabbed following a fight involving three men.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to stab injuries.

Police said his injuries are not life threatening.

Officers, including armed officers, went to the scene, and a 22-year-old man was arrested.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Aaron McCabe, 22, of Coleridge Road, Blackpool, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.

He appeared before Lancaster Magistrates' Court this morning and was remanded to appear before Preston Crown Court on 16th September.

Police said enquiries to locate and arrest a second suspect are ongoing.
