Man arrested after drugs found at Blackpool home
Police action part of county-wide campaign against organised crime
A 53-year-old man was taken into custody after police executed a drug warrant in Blackpool.
Officers conducted the warrant this morning, 18th August, at a home on Egerton Road under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Wraps of suspected class A drugs, weighing scales, and a tick list were discovered at the property.
The action is part of Operation Warrior, a concentrated effort by Lancashire Constabulary to tackle organised crime in the county, backed by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.
Blackpool Police’s Sergeant Paul Showell emphasised the importance of community cooperation in addressing persistent drug-related issues.
"This warrant was as a result of intelligence and reports received from the local community. I want to reassure communities that we take reports of drug dealing and wider organised crime incredibly seriously and will continue to work proactively to combat this.
"We are working hard to keep organised crime out of our communities, and the support and information provided by residents is invaluable in helping us target those responsible and protect the places where people live and work.
"Officers remain determined to disrupt those involved in organised crime and will work tirelessly with our partners and local residents to prevent criminal networks from operating within our area,” Sergeant Showell said.
Operation Warrior specifically targets people and groups linked to various crimes such as violence, drug distribution, and exploitation, marking a focused approach to improving community safety.
