Woman sexually assaulted in Lancaster; police seek witnesses
Suspect description issued in public appeal
A woman was sexually assaulted in Lancaster, and police are urgently seeking witnesses to help identify the suspect.
The incident took place on a footpath connecting the rear of the Asda Car Park to Salt Ayre Sports Centre on the morning of 19th June.
It occurred between 08:30 and 08:45, when a man approached the victim and committed the assault.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 50 and 60, with a large build, big shoulders, and a fat stomach.
He stands around 6ft tall and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black long-sleeved waterproof jacket zipped up, dark blue cargo shorts, white socks up to the middle of his calves, and sunglasses.
He was carrying a black chunky backpack and was last seen walking towards the cycle track.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact police.
