Lancashire's D-Day hero to open new veterans' centre on his 102nd birthday
Sgt Richard Brock will cut the ribbon this Saturday (30th May)
A World War Two veteran who took part in the D-Day Landings is set to open a new veterans' hub in Lancaster - on his 102nd birthday.
Sgt Richard Brock will cut the ribbon at Lancashire Fire Station and open the new Bay Veterans Association Hub.
The hub aims to provide a space to bring veterans together and connect them with support in their local community.
In a Facebook post, the Bay Veterans Association thanked Lancaster Fire & Rescue Service, Age UK, the Armed Forces charity SSAFA, The Veterans Foundation, and Lancaster District Community & Voluntary Solutions for their work in getting the new hub set up.
The grand opening will take place this Saturday (30th May) from 11am.
