A new action plan to tackle anti-social behaviour in Lancashire has been launched by Clive Grunshaw, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Lancashire Constabulary.

The Lancashire ASB Action Plan represents a coordinated effort to address crime through enforcement and preventive measures across the county.

Unveiled at a partnership event in Blackburn, the plan aligns with the Government’s Safer Streets mission and the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee.

The initiative brings together a diverse network, including local authorities, housing providers, voluntary sector organisations, and community safety partners.

Essential collaboration is also anticipated with NHS providers and social care services.

Commissioner Grunshaw emphasised that the plan involves various sectors, beyond mere enforcement, to prevent issues before they escalate.

He highlighted, "Our councils, with powers in housing and licensing, alongside schools and youth services, can intervene early to encourage positive choices.”

The strategy is set to build on the success of operations like Op Centurion and Op Vulture, which have previously targeted issues like retail crime and anti-social behaviour.

Over the past year, efforts have led to a significant increase in the seizure of e-scooters and e-bikes.

Assistant Chief Constable Stasia Osiowy added that they are working decisively with partners to eliminate anti-social behaviour, which impacts community quality of life.

Through Operation Centurion, the force has secured multiple closure orders on nuisance premises and seized over 1,200 disruptive vehicles in the last year.
