Fundraiser launched after death of 12-year-old in River Ribble
The body of Junior Slater was recovered on 26 May
A fundraiser has been launched following the death of a 12-year-old boy who got into difficulty in the River Ribble.
The body of Junior Slater from Clayton-le-Woods was recovered from the water on 26 May after a five hour large-scale search.
It's believed he got into difficulty while swimming with friends.
Junior's family previously called him their "little blue-eyed boy" and said he "was the life and soul of their lives".
"Forever 12. Forever loved."
A fundraiser has now been launched by his family to help towards funeral costs.
It states "Our hearts are completely broken after tragically losing our beautiful 12-year-old brother.
"He was the happiest, cheekiest soul, always making everyone laugh and lighting up every room he walked into. He was a loving son, amazing little brother, and the best uncle. He was loved by so many people, and we were all so proud of him.
"We are raising money to help give him the beautiful send-off he deserves and support our mum and family through this heartbreaking time. Any donation or share would mean the world to us.
"Forever 12. Forever loved."
