Joint operation tackles county lines drug dealing in Preston
Multi-agency operation targets serious crime
A joint multi-agency operation in Preston has led to multiple arrests and vehicle seizures, aiming to disrupt County Lines drug activities in the area.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday 8th September, involved officers from Lancashire Constabulary, including various specialised teams, and British Transport Police, along with other partner agencies.
Over 25 plain-clothed officers gathered evidence of drug activity, resulting in arrests and the search of vehicles. An abandoned vehicle led to the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, with cash, suspected drugs, and mobile phones seized.
Six people were arrested for offences including affray, burglary, and assault. Additional measures included visits to vulnerable individuals, risk assessments, and safeguarding implementations.
Activities at Preston Train Station involved drug detection dogs and knife arch deployment, leading to missing persons being found and drug possession resolutions issued. Ten vehicles were seized during targeted road policing.
Inspector Adam Pearson highlighted the importance of the operation in making Preston safer, stating the value of collaboration among police resources.
Supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, Operation Warrior continues to tackle serious local crime. Residents are encouraged to report suspected drug activities to Lancashire Police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
