Man dies and two girls injured after car crashes into Haslingden house
A man has died and two teenage girls are in hospital with severe injuries
A man has died and two teenage girls have suffered serious injuries following a collision in Haslingden.
Emergency services were called out to Helmshore Road and the junction with Dean Road at around 11.49pm yesterday to reports of a crash.
Officers say a VW Golf crashed into the side of a house after leaving the carriageway.
The driver, a man in his 20s, died in hospital.
Two 18-year-old girls in the car suffered serious injuries and are currently in hospital.
The road was closed as investigation work was carried out.
Sgt Anthony Beckett, from Lancashire Police, said: “My thoughts first and foremost are very much with the family and loved ones of the driver who has very sadly passed away, and with the girls as they receive care and treatment in hospital.
“This was a collision with horrendous consequences and as we investigate what happened, we are appealing to the public for assistance.
