A second 11-year-old has been interviewed by police after a racist word was allegedly written on a six-year-old boy’s head and arm at a Chorley park.

The boy was reportedly approached by two older children at Harpers Recreation Ground on Saturday (September 5th).

Police say the racist word was written on his forehead and arm with a marker pen, while an offensive word was also written on a slide.

An 11-year-old boy was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and criminal damage.

He has since been bailed.

A second 11-year-old was interviewed on Wednesday (9 September).

Police say the boy and his family are being supported, and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information about the incident is being urged to call 101 quoting log 1021 of 5th September.
