The family of a mum who was “beautiful inside and out” have paid tribute after her sudden death in Longridge.

Hannah Eidann Fry, 29, became unwell at an address on Meadow Croft on Monday 13 July while police officers were in attendance.

She was taken to hospital but later died.

Hannah’s parents, Kevin and Sarah Harcup, said in tribute: “Hannah was our beautiful and only daughter, the light of our lives and the love in our hearts and souls.

“She was a devoted mother to her two precious daughters, a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, and a loyal, loving friend to so many.

“At just 29 years old, Hannah's life was far too short. She was not only beautiful inside and out, but also funny, bubbly, witty, and full of life, with a fantastic personality.”

They said Hannah would be remembered for her “madcap sense of humour”, her “infectious laugh” and her ability to “light up every room she entered”.

They added: “Hannah had an extraordinary capacity for love, kindness, compassion, and loyalty. She was truly one of a kind, and there will never be another like her.”

Investigation launched

Hannah’s death is being treated as unexplained and police enquiries are ongoing.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of coercive and controlling behaviour and was later further arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

He has been released on bail with conditions while enquiries continue.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested in relation to the incident which initially led police to attend the address. He has also been released on bail.

A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), and police say it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.

Police have asked people to be mindful of Hannah’s family and avoid speculation while the investigation continues.
