Fylde Council is inviting residents to contribute to a significant public consultation on a new waste strategy that will influence waste and recycling management in Lancashire for the next decade.

The Lancashire Waste Partnership's draft strategy, titled ‘A Low Waste Lancashire 2026 to 2036,’ outlines an ambitious vision for future waste collection, management, and disposal services across the county.

Starting from 30th June until 9th August, citizens can express their opinions on the strategy’s vision, objectives, and proposed actions.

Feedback from the consultation will play a crucial role in ensuring the final plan aligns with the priorities of local communities.

The online survey is brief, taking less than ten minutes to complete, and will inform the development of the final strategy, scheduled for publication later in 2026. Interested residents can access both the summary and full draft of the strategy before filling out the survey.

Importance of public input

Councillor Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Customer and Operational Services, highlighted the significance of resident participation:

"We know how important an efficient waste collection is to our residents. This is a real opportunity for Fylde residents to help shape how waste is handled right across Lancashire for years to come."

She urged residents to take time to provide feedback, noting that every response matters in crafting a strategy reflective of community values.

Residents interested in participating can find the survey and additional resources on the Fylde Council website or contact the council for further assistance if necessary.
