Funding opportunity in West Lancashire to aid crime prevention efforts
Local groups encouraged to apply for £50,000 MP Fund for community safety
New funding has been announced for organisations in West Lancashire to support initiatives aimed at reducing crime and enhancing community safety.
Ashley Dalton MP revealed the availability of £50,000 through the Labour Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner’s MP Fund.
This fund garners financial resources through the proceeds of crime, reinvesting them into the community to deter future incidents and harmful activities.
The programme is aligned with the Police and Crime Plan for Lancashire 2024–2029, which prioritises efforts in conjunction with the Labour Government’s Safer Streets mission.
Potential applicants can seek grants for preventative, early intervention, and community-based initiatives targeting key areas:
Preventing violence against women and girls
Tackling crime and antisocial behaviour
Addressing serious and violent crime
Rebuilding trust and confidence in policing
Ashley Dalton’s website provides full details on how to apply for these funds.
Applications remain open until 11:59pm on 14th July.
Projects endorsed by Ms Dalton will receive funding, potentially up to the combined total of £50,000.
Ashley Dalton, MP for West Lancashire said:
“I opened my MP fund through the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office last year and have been delighted with the impact locally.
“This funding has supported the prevention of crime across West Lancashire and improving safety. Projects have focused on knife crime, the wellbeing of girls aged 10-14, young people affected by trauma, family breakdown and cycles of crime/addiction in Skelmersdale and youth work in Burscough and Ormskirk.
“If you’re an organisation with a project that could help keep West Lancashire safe, I want to hear from you.”
Organisations are urged to visit Ashley Dalton’s website for more information about the application process.
