Five to headline Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On event
Switch-On concert to feature pop band and local talent
British pop band Five has been announced as the headline act for Blackpool's Illuminations Switch-On event.
The free outdoor concert, held at the Tower Festival Headland near The Blackpool Tower, is set for 4th September 2026, marking the official start of the famous Illuminations season.
This year, Blackpool Tourism Limited is partnering with the BBC for the event, with BBC Radio Lancashire presenters Graham Liver and Sharon Hartley hosting.
BBC Radio Lancashire will also feature emerging talent from the region through BBC Introducing.
Event performances and lineup
Alongside headliners Five, rock band The Feeling and chart-topping singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan will also perform.
The night will conclude with Five's hour-long set, following a summer of high-profile festival appearances, including Download and Isle of Wight festivals.
Ticket information
A total of 20,000 free tickets will be available through a public ballot starting on 30th June at 12 noon and closing on 6th August at 5pm.
Tickets will be distributed equally between Blackpool Council residents and visitors.

Successful applicants will need to pay a £5 admin fee per booking.
Golden Circle tickets can be purchased for £12 plus a £5 admin fee, with sales starting at 10 am on 30th June.
