Family tribute to man who died in Colne car collision
20-year-old Danyal Hassan remembered for kindness and spirit
The family of Danyal Hassan, a 20-year-old from Nelson who tragically died following a car collision in Colne last month, have shared a tribute to him.
Emergency services responded to an incident at 6.48pm on Sunday, 7th June, on Skipton Old Road, where a Volkswagen Passat CC travelling towards Colne from Skipton collided with a stone wall and overturned.
Danyal Hassan, a passenger in the vehicle, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he unfortunately passed away from his injuries. The driver of the Passat, a man in his 20s, experienced minor injuries.
In their tribute, Danyal's family expressed deep appreciation for the warmth and love he brought into their lives, highlighting his remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages and his generous spirit.
"Danyal was only 20 years old, but in that short time, he filled our lives with so much warmth and love. He had the most amazing attitude towards everyone he met and treated all with kindness and respect... Though his life was short, it was full of blessings, which he shared so quietly and generously."
The family also acknowledged the supportive charity work done by Danyal's friends in his honour, underscoring the immense impact Danyal had on those around him.
"In our sadness, our family has grown stronger, united by our love for him. We are now supporting charities in his name, carrying forward his spirit of giving."
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or footage related to the collision to contact them.
