A woman in her 80s has been left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian on Upholland Road.
She was taken to hospital where she remains in serious condition.
Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian on Upholland Road.
A Volkswagen Up travelling along Upholland Road in Billinge, as the car passes the junction with Cross Lane, a pedestrian has entered the carriageway and the car has collided with the passenger, causing them to fall to the ground.
Emergency services attended and located a woman in her 80s with serious injuries. She was taken to hospital where she remains in serious condition.
No arrests have been made and the driver of the Volkswagen stayed at the scene.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
