Digmoor's Pride in Place neighbourhood board appoints new Chair
Programme aims to invest £2 million annually in the local community
Ashley Dalton, MP for West Lancashire, has announced the appointment of Kevin Davidson as Chair of the Digmoor Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
Davidson, who is currently the CEO of SHARES Lancashire, will lead the board in overseeing how £2 million of annual government investment is allocated to the community over the next decade.
The programme, aimed at empowering local residents to make decisions regarding their neighbourhood, marks a significant commitment by Labour to invest in the area and address longstanding concerns.
The Neighbourhood Board will be formed by local people to ensure that the community's needs and aspirations are reflected in the spending.
Kevin Davidson brings with him extensive experience and local knowledge, having grown up in Digmoor and served the Skelmersdale community for over 20 years.
His involvement in improving educational outcomes and community well-being makes him a fitting choice to spearhead the initiative.
Ashley Dalton expressed enthusiasm for Davidson's appointment, highlighting his passion for the area as a tremendous asset to the programme.
Dalton said that local residents will soon be invited to participate more actively in the Pride in Place initiative.
She emphasised the importance of the programme in offering a fresh start for those who feel neglected by previous governments.
Davidson echoed Dalton's sentiments, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to lead the board and committing to developing a regeneration plan that reflects the community's priorities
