A tractor driver has been banned from the roads after a reckless dash through the centre of Preston was caught on camera.

On 6 June 2025, Jack Hesketh, 30, of Skip Lane, Hutton, drove a fully laden Massey Ferguson tractor dangerously along the A59.

Dashcam footage showed him waving his arms to signal the driver in front to speed up before revving his vehicle to undertake.

Hesketh then veered across the path of the car, causing his trailer to mount the central reservation.

As it did, his load of empty pallets spilled into the opposite carriageway — directly into the path of oncoming traffic.

In court, Hesketh admitted dangerous driving, telling magistrates he had been “traffic dodging” and “just wanted to get home.”

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to take an extended retest before he can get back behind the wheel.

He was also fined £1,066 and ordered to pay £501 in court costs and a victim surcharge.

The court heard that Hesketh’s actions, described as reckless and selfish, had placed other road users in serious danger.
