Cyclist seriously hurt in Haslingden collision

A man in his 20s has been left seriously injured in a crash involving his bike and a van in Haslingden.

Police were called to Grane Road around 5.15pm on Tuesday (17 March) to reports of a collision.

The cyclist was thrown from his bike and taken to hospital by ambulance, where he remains.

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, he is still in police custody.

PC Simon Grounds, of Lancashire Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This collision has left a man with some very serious injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, or who has any footage such as dashcam, to get in touch."
