Bomb disposal experts have attended a house in Clitheroe following the discovery of a suspected unexploded ordnance in a garden.

The item was found in Seedall Avenue at 9.58am yesterday (Sunday 5th July)and emergency services attended the scene.

A 100-metre safety cordon was set-up, meaning that several nearby properties were evacuated.

Experts from the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal assessed the situation and determined that the item did not pose any risk.

Residents were allowed home early afternoon.
