Crews battle fire for ten hours; investigation underway

Firefighters responded to a blaze at a derelict building on Preston Road, Clayton, during the afternoon of 11th August 2026.

The fire broke out at 16:22, prompting the dispatch of four fire engines from Fulwood, Bamber Bridge, and Leyland, along with the aerial ladder platform from Preston.

Crews utilised two hose reels, a main jet, and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, which kept them on the scene for approximately ten hours.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine how the blaze started.
