Civic Centre in Leyland closed until further notice

It's due to a problem with the water supply

Author: Jon BurkePublished 19th May 2026

As a result of an ongoing United Utilities issue affecting the water supply in areas of Leyland, South Ribble Council has taken the decision to close the Civic Centre in Leyland, meaning no face-to-face appointments will be taken and drop-ins will be unavailable.

There are many services you can access on its website.

Citizen’s Advice and Job Centre Plus based in the building will also be closed. Any enquiries for these businesses or NHS services based in the building are to be put to them directly.

The council says it understands this issue is affecting other homes and businesses so please keep up to date by following updates at https://www.unitedutilities.com/emergencies/up-my-street/.
