A closure order on a house in Chorley, linked to ongoing anti-social behaviour, has been extended for another three months.

Originally granted by Lancaster Magistrates' Court on 31st March 2026, the order covers a property on Poplar Drive in Coppull.

Lancashire Constabulary requested the extension, which is now set to remain until 30th September 2026.

The closure order prevents anyone from entering or visiting the house.

Since its imposition, the community has seen a decrease in disruptive behaviour, offering some reassurance to residents in the area.

Local Community Relief

PC Georgina Anson from Chorley's Neighbourhood Policing Team commented on the situation.

"We know the impact anti-social behaviour can have on people's lives, and we want residents to know that we are listening and taking action alongside our partners," she said.

"The closure order has already made a difference to those living nearby, with a significant reduction in the anti-social behaviour that was causing concern.

"By securing this extension, we can continue to protect the community, prevent further disruption and help ensure local people feel safe and supported in their neighbourhood."

Operation Centurion

This extension is part of Operation Centurion, Lancashire's county-wide initiative to target anti-social behaviour.

The project is led by Lancashire Constabulary and supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

It forms part of efforts to improve public safety and works in conjunction with local partners.
