Arson investigation launched after fire at Blackburn café

It's reported that Café RAHA was targeted

An investigation has been launched after a suspected arson attack at Café RAHA on Whalley New Road in Blackburn.

Emergency services were called out at around 2.32am today (11 May) to reports that a fire had been started there.

Three fire engines from Blackburn and Hyndburn attended and were at the scene for around two hours and 40 minutes.

Lancashire Police say the fire is being treated as arson.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.32am today to a café premises on Whalley New Road, Blackburn, to a report of arson.

"It was reported that a fire had been started at the premises.

"The cause of the fire is being investigated and enquiries are ongoing.”

Officers are asking anyone with information or CCTV footage to call 101, quoting log 0096 of 11 May.
