Burnley FC sign Spain U18 international Lluc Castell
19-year-old winger is the first 2026 summer signing
Burnley Football Club has signed Lluc Castell, a Spain U18 international, on a permanent deal from RCD Espanyol.
The 19-year-old winger has agreed to a three-year contract with the club, marking the first addition to the squad for the 2026 summer transfer window.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Castell started his football journey at Gimnà stic de Tarragona, where he spent four years before joining Espanyol in 2022.
Castell progressed rapidly through Espanyol's youth ranks and represented Spain at the U17 European Championships.
His performances earned him a professional contract in April 2024, and he featured over 60 times for Espanyol B, scoring 11 goals over the past two seasons.
The promising young forward trained with Espanyol's first team towards the end of last season and made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in May.
