Appeal for witnesses after reported sexual assault on two girls in Burnley
Police seek information regarding incident involving 11-year-olds
Police are appealing for witnesses as part of an ongoing investigation into the reported sexual assault of two 11-year-old girls in Burnley.
The incident took place between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on 6th August and occurred on Pendle Way, Gannow Lane, as well as the subway connecting these streets and the Adamson Street and St Johns Street area.
The girls managed to escape the scene and alert someone for help. Since the report, a 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
Law enforcement officials believe there may be witnesses in the area who have not yet been contacted and are urging them to come forward.
The suspect is described as a white man with grey hair and glasses. Authorities are interested in any sightings of the individual with the two girls or within the mentioned street areas during the time frame.
