81-year-old jailed for decades of child sexual abuse in Burnley
Preston Crown Court delivers 10-year sentence
An 81-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing two young boys over more than two decades in Burnley.
David Preedy targeted vulnerable individuals between August 2001 and December 2024.
The pattern of abuse was uncovered after one victim courageously reported the offences to police last year.
Following a complex investigation by authorities, Preedy was charged and sentenced at Preston Crown Court on 3rd July.
Det Con Elley Ormerod of Burnley CID praised the victims for their bravery, stating their courage was essential for securing the convictions.
Ormerod emphasised the commitment to holding perpetrators accountable and encouraged others who have suffered to come forward, assured of a professional and sensitive investigation.
