Blackpool Tower is set to be lit up in blue to remember murdered baby Preston Davey.
A spokesperson for Blackpool Tower confirmed they have a booking to light the Tower on 27 July, the third anniversary of his death.
Preston Davey, aged 13 months, died after four months of abuse at the hands of high school head of year Jamie Varley, 37, from Blackpool.
Varley was in the process of adopting the boy with his partner, John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, in April 2023.
Varley was recently handed an entire life order, so will never be released from prison, after being found guilty of 25 offences including murder, child cruelty, sexual offences and indecent images relating to Preston.
McGowan-Fazakerley was jailed for 25 years for allowing the death of a child, two counts of child cruelty and sexual assault.
A child safeguarding practice review which was launched by Oldham Council after Preston’s death, and paused whilst criminal proceedings were ongoing, has resumed.
