Couple arrested as teenage boy in critical condition after Blackpool collision

Officers say a collision occurred between his e-bike and a car yesterday (12th February)

A man and woman have been arrested after a teenage boy was left in a critical condition following a collision in Blackpool.

Emergency services were called out to the junction of Winchester Avenue and Chislehurst Avenue just before 7pm yesterday, to reports an e-bike and a Skoda Octavia car had collided.

The rider of the e-bike, a 16-year-old boy, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s have been arrested and remain in custody.

Sgt Bex Price, of Blackpool's Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a young man with some very serious injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who may have CCTV, ring doorbell or dashcam footage to get in touch.”
