Three arrests made during Blackpool protest on Saturday

Police commend the overall peaceful demonstration held over the weekend

A protest and counter-protest on Saturday, 30th May, in Blackpool led to three arrests amid a largely lawful demonstration.

According to a Lancashire Police spokesperson, the majority of those involved exercised their right to protest peacefully during the weekend event.

Unfortunately, three individuals were arrested: a 42-year-old man from Blackpool was detained on suspicion of police assault.

Additionally, an 18-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, also from Blackpool, were arrested under Section 5 of the Public Order Act for causing harassment, alarm, or distress.

Lancashire Police thanked Blackpool's residents and business owners for their patience and understanding during the proceedings.
