Lorraine Beavers, MP for Blackpool North and Fleetwood, has spoken out about the lack of toilet facilities for children’s football teams.

In Parliament, she highlighted how the issue disproportionately affects girls, with some in her constituency stopping football due to no access to loos.

Her constituent, Natalie, is campaigning for better provision of essential facilities.

Sir Alan Campbell, supporting Beavers’ concerns, acknowledged the government's commitment to improving grassroots sports facilities.

He noted the £85 million investment intended to increase participation, particularly among women and girls.

This funding includes providing clubhouses and changing rooms.

Mr Campbell encouraged Ms Beavers to bring up the topic at next week's Culture, Media and Sport questions.
