Blackpool launches World Firework Champion of Champion series
Blackpool ignites global competition with new Champion of Champions fireworks series.
Blackpool is set to light up the skies with a spectacular new chapter in its firework celebrations, launching a four-year Champion of Champions series for the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool.
Running from 2025 to 2028, the series will see nine former winners return to compete head-to-head, with one heat winner chosen each year. The excitement will build to a dramatic grand finale in 2028, where the three heat winners will battle it out for the ultimate title.
This year’s line-up features three returning champions:
Saturday 13 September – Amir Morani Fireworks representing India (Winner 2023)
Saturday 27 September – Dance of Fire representing Ukraine (Winner 2019)
Saturday 11 October – Orion representing Canada (Winner 2015)
“Firework nights are something very special in the Blackpool calendar and we can’t wait to welcome residents and visitors to the Promenade to see what these three returning competitors have planned,” said Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council.
“To have previous winners competing against each other means the audience will be in for a spectacularly good evening!”
Each team will revisit and enhance their previous displays, introducing upgraded effects, bespoke soundtracks, and next-level creativity. The events are free to attend, with build-up starting from 7.30pm and displays beginning at 8.30pm.
