Closure order aims to curb anti-social behaviour in local community
A property in Blackpool has been issued a closure order following numerous reports of anti-social behaviour, aiming to provide relief to residents nearby.
Last Friday, officers from Blackpool's Neighbourhood Policing Team secured the order from Preston Magistrates’ Court for the address on Bratby Close.
The measure is part of an effort to tackle public disturbances linked to the property.
Under section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, the order prohibits entry to anyone except the tenant until October 2026.
Police have warned that anyone found entering, leaving, or staying at the property without reasonable excuse could face arrest, fines, or imprisonment.
Operation Centurion, which is a police initiative to address anti-social behaviour through targeted activities and high visibility patrols, included this action as part of its campaign.
Residents are encouraged to report any concerns to the police via their website or by calling 101, and are reminded to use 999 in emergencies.
