Man arrested after passenger dies in collision with parked car in Blackburn

A man has been arrested after another man in his 40s died following a collision with a parked car in Blackburn.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said "At 12.25am today (2nd April) we were called to Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, to a report of a collision involving two vehicles.

"Our officers attended and found that a Peugeot 107 had been in collision with a parked, unattended Toyota Landcruiser.

"The front seat passenger in the Peugeot, a man in his 40s, suffered traumatic injuries, and despite the best efforts of medical personnel, was pronounced deceased at the scene."

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to hospital following the collision.

The passenger's family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them
