Two men arrested after baby girl hospitalised in Bamber Bridge collision

Officers say a van collided with three stationary vehicles

Two men have been arrested following a collision in Bamber Bridge where a baby girl was left with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called out to the slip road at Junction 29 off the M6 northbound on Friday 13th February.

They received reports of a collision between a white Ford Transit van and three stationary vehicles, including a HGV and two cars.

A baby, a passenger of one of the cars, was taken to hospital where she remains.

The driver and passenger of the van fled the scene.

Now, a 39-year-old man from Preston and a 42-year-old man from Blackburn have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The 39-year-old is in custody whilst the 42-year-old is on bail with conditions.
