BAE workers in Lancashire to get 6% pay rise after strikes
That's after months of strike action
Thousands of workers at BAE Systems factories in Lancashire have secured an above-inflation pay rise after months of strike action.
Members of Unite the Union at the company’s Warton Aerodrome and BAE Systems Samlesbury site will receive a six per cent increase.
They'll also receive extra annual leave; a one-off £500 payment; and a half-hour earlier finish time each day.
Staff have been awarded a 4.8% pay rise, backdated to 1st January, and a further 0.75% from 1st October.
Union leaders say the deal follows sustained industrial action over several months.
Unite general sectary Sharon Graham said: "It has taken a courageous stance from our workers on a picket line to win this award. They should be congratulated for standing together and winning a pay rise they truly deserve."
